what I mean was stay from AA filters such as Catmull Rom, Cook, and to a lesser extent Mitchell.

Yeah I know, catmull is to hard. But michell use to work. I have tried Area but it didn´t fix the problem.

Well, you could always cheat it if the rendertimes aren't that high - clamp the output and render out a few different exposures and combine them into an float image in post.

          Nope, they are to high.

Well, solution that works for me - you have to render original sized pict, then two times (or smth) bigger. Then, in post, blend 'em. That's it

We're tired of this HDR overbrights too, but there's nothin' to do about, except another hour for stills and a quarter for animations.
I just can't seem to trust myself
So what chance does that leave, for anyone else?

Well.. thats not an option. We have to much to render allready.

Can you post an image? Because with sub pixel and clamp output turned on, I doubt there would still be AA issues.

No sorry, I can´t post a render and I don´t think I have enough time to recreate the problem with a custom scene. But I´ll see what I can do.

or a part of the render if you can't show the complete picture?

So, now I have had time to do some testshots, and clamp did fix the problem, thank you guys.

Manually adjusting highlight glossiness in the material could be a good fix. Lowering the value will soften the highlight getting rid of the jaggies. I know its not as acurate but who cares as long as it looks ok.
