  • 3D browser suggestions

    Hi

We are in the process of evaluating Deep Exploration as a 3D browser to help us out in sorting and viewing all the models in our 3D library.

It works well but it's expensive and upgrades are almost the same price as the initial purchase.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for similar product?
    What do you use?

What we need is something that can view max, 3ds, obj, c4d, lwo, ply and 3-5 most popular CAD formats and convert between them.
(And wouldn't charge $150 every time a new max version comes out)

    Regards

    Zoran

Thanks for your replies guys, but it looks like there is nothing what I need on the market

-Max's Asset browser is just pathetic. It just shows the catched preview images of max files and if someone doesn't have that feature turned on in preferences you can't see anything.

          -3D Browser supports only max 3.x - 5.x !!!!

-Polytrans is a bit of an overkill because we just want to quickly browse through files.

I'll keep you posted if I found something usefull.

          regards

Actually, we've been using the latest version of 3D Browser and it works with MAX 7 files and I believe MAX 8 files. They have also added a feature where you can swap out the MAX generated thumbnail with an image file such as a nicely V-Ray rendered image.
