Ok I know its not really a VRay question, but is it me or is rendering in backburner slower than rendering locally? I really would like a replacement fot it.

do u have xref proxis vrmeshes gigant textures?
the same - faster - slower PC?
      more - less RAM?
same vray version on the slave?
do you render just one frame in BB - it shows you the time for loading th scene + rendering - the second frame the PC do is the right time

      many possible reasons ...

Nope no proxies, same machine as slave and just one frame on backburner gonna do some more tests to see if it might be scene related.
