  • Balloon/Bouncy castle material

    Hi All,

Does anyone have any tips on creating a realistic rubber material like that of a balloon or a bouncy castle? I've been playing around for a fair bit and can't quite get the look.

Here's where I've got so far using a vray material with hard wax translucency:

    Not quite "it" is it?

I agree. I guess translucency/SSS might help, but I think the main issue especially in the first "bouncy castle" picture, is getting the proper glossy reflections. And work on the model to make it look more air-filled, and like it is sagging a bit due to gravity.

                  Have a look on http://www.vray-materials.de

Maybe there's a free mat from VRay users for you.

Cheers guy's. I think I've got it sussed now. Added a bump map to simulate seams in the material and a slight bit of transparency and it looks ok. Not brilliant, but ok.

                    Cheers,
