  • Transforming Vertices

We just upgraded from VIZ to MAX 9 x64, and installed the newest build of vray (RC3, x64). We're getting reaaallly long times when it comes to "Transforming Vertices", and the last bucket.

I did the usual search of the forums and found that this is a known issue, which has been addressed in RC4, yet to be realeased. I'm curious though; many others on the board must be encountering the same issue, and how are you getting around it?

*Is it just an SP2 thing, so are many of you not installing the service pack to avoid the issue?
*Is it only affecting some users?
*Do most of you have a pre-realease RC4 fix?
*Did you guys not install MAX9?

It happens only with complicated scenes (not necessarily with lots of geometry) where there are lots of links between different objects. If you would like an update for this, please email me to vlado@chaosgroup.com

I'm trying to render a scene with 3 complicated rigs and I'm gettig the "transforming verticses" thing. I'
I'm with the last versiĆ³n of vray, 1.5 SP4 so is this bug not yet fixed?

        I've forgotten to say that I'm on 3dsmax 2010.
What I don't understand of this is why this happens if those multiple rig objects are hidden. Even if I try to render only one simple sphere with all the other objects hidden the "transforming vertices" appears.
I think there is a problem because vray are computing things that don't be rendered.

V-Ray needs to do some initialization for all objects in the 3ds Max, whether they are hidden or not because they may still influence other objects that get rendered (for example, a hidden object may affect the way an atmospheric effect is rendered).

Yes. Them are professional rigs from PEN STUDIOS so... very complicated and heavy scripted rigs.

Ok vlado I understand but then it would be a good idea to include an option to deactivate this in case you don't need it.
