  • Updating our network to Max 9 + Vray 1.5...

We've finally gotten ourselves in a situation where we can move our systems over to Max 9 (32bit) and Vray 1.5.

Obviously the most important thing to us is to have Vray working, specifically when we send files through backburner to our render slaves... It's a been a while since I've looked into these things so I wondered if anyone had any insight, warnings or otherwise when it comes to upgrading backburner, service packs...etc.

Do the service packs need to be installed in order?

    Do they affect Vray?

Are there any problems with the new Backburner & Vray 1.5?

    Any information would be fantastic.

    Thanks,

    AJ

As far as I know, there aren't problems with V-Ray specifically (other than the number of threads for DR, for which there is a work-around).

For various information on how to install the service packs and extensions, as well as for backburner information, it would be best to search through the Autodesk discussion forums, there is a lot of stuff there on the topic. I think the basic rule was to install SP1, SP2 and then Productivity booster (if any).

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      Thanks Vlado,

I've actually just popped over to the Autodesk forums to have a look & there seems to be quite a lot of issues with Backburner which is a little unnerving!

Well, as long as V-ray works then I'm happy!

      Thanks again
