  • Fast glass material

    Hi guys,

I am in the final stages of putting a visual together and I am populating a servery with glassware. I am having a really hard time creating a realistic but fast to render material.

I was hoping somebody could offer some advice.

    Thanks,
    Marcus.

Maximum refraction, falloff in reflection, affect shadows turned on. Make sure its got a thickness of between 5 and 10mm and a good environment, and youre good to go.

I'd put a slight bluey/green tint to the fog too, but depending on the thickness of your glass or scene scale you'll need to mess about with some numbers.

      Mine is always :

Anyway, I'm not sure that the "avoid 255" rule does apply for this type of material...

Both, make it completley invisible to it.

It's strange, I've just made a quick test and wrapping the glass mat has the same effect has unchecking "affect shadows"

When changing GI attributes in the object's Vray properties, it works ...
