I have had a couple requests for Arial.... any suggestions before I start one of them? Should I use SUN/SKY/CAM or a skydome? Would you recommend HDR or not? How would you recommend I handle the whole not having a horizon?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Bobby,

For Aerial shots the Physical Sun has always served me well. As for horizons, maybe this could help out: www.landdata3d.com

      Birds Eye

I'll check that link out, but I meant birdseye. I am looking down at abut a 45 degree angle.

        pond water

I have a pond on my aerial, but all the water materials I can find are nice pool water. Does anybody have any ideas? Also, I have a hundred proxy trees, but somehow by tree trunk is green so somehow that maps got mixed up... anyway to fix this?

Proxies need to have a multisub applied to them. So as long as your trunk is 1 material ID and your leaves another it shouldnt be a problem. Sounds like you may have the whole tree the same ID or you havnt applied a multi sub material to it.

As for teh water, try maybe some dark green fog to get that murky look. Dont forget alot of what make a pond a pond is the pond floor, its often rather dirty and dark.

            proxy

the tree is actually 2 parts and when I create the proxy I turn it into 1. It has always worked before, I think.

              Still needs a multi sub.
Possibly you have both parts of the mesh as the 1 material ID.

Yep. You will need to remake your proxies with proper material ID's
