  • I think vraysky reflection should be stronger...examples...

For example car paint. Here is vraysky 1 mutli:

and here vraysky in env refl slot with mutli 4. this way black is black and sky is reflecting nicely.

I was thinking that it's something wrong with car mat but I don't think so becasue when bumping up refections it's it just starting to loose black.
    What do you think.
I also think that metals and glass looks much better.

this appears to be a known problem, which vlado says it's been fixed in newer builds.

      yeah, what lele just posted.

Lele I got the newest built RC5 :P so I guess it's still too dark. On the background it looks allright but in refections not quite, don't you think.

Hard to say without a reference, i guess, or a peek at the scene.

i prefer your test with a multiplier of 1. the image where you used 4 looks great if you focus in on small sections but as a whole, it does not not look quite right in the scene IMHO. Looks more like a matchbox car or made of plastic or something - too exaggerated and reflecting too perfectly.

Anyway, interesting test. For me, id stick to a multiplier of 1 though

For me the 2nd image is better.. but as has been mentioned quite a few times now, vraysky IS too dark and HAS been fixed.

                searchy searchy please

this looks way better compared to what I see in my own renders with 1.5, can you post some settings?

I can also point out that the reflection strength on the car could also have effect ...

I think its better to test on a purely diffuse materials, to minimize margine of error.

I think it all depends what kind of material U use for a car in general. When You have material using falloffs in reflection slot it always will be lees reflective but more naturally look ,,, if U go over and add some more fresnel IOR's will could end up like a liquid steel from Terminator movie at some point. But the second image looks better in this case, nice.
