  • material or color mapping?

does anyone no why I cannot get really clear transparent glass when using the exponential color mapping , but i can when using the linear multiply color one.

I guess you could say, then why dont I just use the linear multiply color mapping selection and be done with it.

and my reply is, that I seem to get a better render when using the exponential cm.

I 've read people rendering 2 pass with and without glass and then using a little PS.

there has to be a setting some where....

I can't seem to reproduce that here. What's your material setup?

one guess is you have affect environment checked in your color mapping. unfortunately i dont think it alters it when seen through transparent objects, so its being altered all around except in the glass. its just a really bad guess

Colour mapping affects materials, and they wont look the same between them. Change the settings.
edit: if you hit the limits of a colour slider in the material editor, either use a vraycolour map and up the rgb multiplier, or use a colour correct plugin to push the values further.

You can get some really weird results with it though, so dont push it too far.

edit2: why is your fog colour black? I know youve got no value in it, but it might be worth putting it back to white.
