Some things to consider... Raise your cube off the ground a little bit to get shadow under the cube - it'll look more correct. Also consider chamfering the edges just a bit so the edges get a little highlight. The diamond facets that are part of the cube had the diamond material on them - they should have the red material.
I rebuilt the die with a chamfered box and put diamonds on the back side. Without something to bounce around on the inside it gets a little flat looking. FYI, the material isn't the render time killer it's the hedra (and the vray area light a little). Remove or hide the hedra from the scene and it'll render much quicker due to not having to calculate all of those internal reflections. About a third of the time for me. Still no caustics, I'll leave that to daforce .
