Doesn't seem that hard ...
It's not perfect but pretty convincing. I made the dispersion material following vlado's directions and tweaked the material a bit for proper diamond IOR (2.417) and dispersion (.044). The major thing I think I did however was give the diamond something to reflect via an HDRI reflection map (i.e. kitchen.hdr) and a few white planes. Since it's basically colorless it needs something to reflect otherwise it gets a little boring. It didn't seem to matter but I also upped the bounces to 20 for reflect & refract just in case.
