  • Slave Rendering

    Hi,

Can anyone tell me if this is possible.

I have a desktop computer and am looking to get a high spec lap top too. With my single license of vray and single license of Viz can I get the desktop to render in the background while still using Viz for modelling on the lap top?

I understand that I can get both machines to render images or frames, but I want just the slave to do the rendering so I can still work with the lap top.

    Thanks,

Well sure. You can do a minimal Backburner setup and simply send the rendering to the desktop wich is running the server.

And work on a completely different scene in Viz?

Sure. You submit it via the network and the rest happens completely indepently from the local machine. After the job is submitted Viz returns to it's UI and you can do whatever you want. You dont need additional licenses for backburner rendering. Neither for Viz, nor for VRay.
