The Review features and the adaptive degredation settings seem pretty nice. Are you allowed to comment on how or if the Review tools work with vray lights and materials (are you still under some NDA)?
    www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.

What codec do these use because I'm getting a codec error in WMP

        Thanks,

I can hear the audio but no video. I have techsmith and Divx installed. Apparently the videos use something else.

We will have an update of V-Ray for 3ds Max 2008 specifically once it is officially released; this is because some additional coding is required to support the new features, which we did not have time to implement into 1.5 final.

                Best regards,

According to the video properties, the video codec is TSCC (TechSmith Screen Capture Codec) and the audio codec is PCM Audio.

The videos played fine for me on a PC that I happened to have just performed a clean install of Windows XP on, followed by Windows Media Player 11. No other players have been installed on this PC yet, so that suggests that Media Player 11 should be adequate.

vlc plays them without a problem.

it didnt play here before. just installed the current version of the tscc codec and it worked fine.

@tom : wich does ? I can for sure say that maya doesnt. Been forced to use it for some recent stuff. And the reference system in maya is laughable wich further bogs down the performance. And the same scene worked fine in max (8mio polys). And 2k8 did quite some performance increasing...

Is it just me or is mr starting to resemble VRay. I mean the UI is a bit moved around but its really similar.

On a side not...that real time preview in the exposure control is pretty cool.

Yea, definitely wouldn't mind having something like that in V-Ray too

I like his "DOUBLE PAIN GLASS" material in the Revit video.
