Has anyone else noticed the new way that the light cache is computed (or at least displayed) on brand new scenes? Where the old cache used to be done in a more random manner, the new default seems to be more uniform. It seems to fill in faster but maybe it's just a mind trick. I can't seem to find out what setting it is that forces the new mode or even if there's any differnce in time or quality. The only way I've found to get this on old scenes is to switch out the renderer back to scanline and then back to vray to reset all of the settings. What am I missing? Can anyone shed some light on this?

New Light Cache mode in 1.5?

Yes, that's it . The new default for scenes is the new "Schlick sampling" method where on older scenes it reverts to "Legacy". Thanks, this was bugging the crap out of me for where to change it.
So assuming we don't need to match the noise in old images, should we go ahead and change this to "Schlick" for older scenes for better noise reduction?www.dpict3d.com - "That's a very nice rendering, Dave. I think you've improved a great deal." - HAL9000... At least I have one fan.
