  • Dongle installation?

Ok, I just received my dongle. I uninstalled RC3, installed 1.50.00 for max9 (workstation - FULL)...

now what? When I plugged in the USB dongle, windows can't find a suitable driver.

tried launching the vray license server, it says 'CodeMeter or WIBU-key runtime system is not installed'

ok forget it... looks like i need to download the 64-bit WIBU driver first (i use XP-64)

If you installed the 32-bit version of V-Ray, it only includes the 32-bit version of the drivers, so on 64-bit Windows, you'll need to get the drivers separately. We didn't want to include both the 32- and 64-bit driver versions in the installation of V-Ray as they are more than 10 MB each.

      Best regards,

one more thing, it appears that the dongle comes with 1 license only (i have multiple licenses). Is this how it's supposed to be (and each user add more license after receiving dongles) ? Anyway, I've emailed chaos regarding this.

We ship all dongles with 1 reprogrammed license, as we are not entirely sure where they will end up; once you get the dongle, it can be reprogrammed remotely for the correct number of licenses - email us to vray@chaosgroup.com for instructions on how to do this.

Since installing 1.5 final and the dongle I have to manually start the vray license server. Is this normal.

              Thanks,

You can make the server to start automatically when Windows boots if you click on Start menu > Programs > Chaos Group > V-Ray for 3ds max > Licensing > Administration > Register V-Ray license service.

An option to register the license service is also present in the installer.
