    using nPower objects:

ok, I got it to work you just have to check the box that says "weld and smooth" under the render options. This is a nice little way to use only one material but be able to pick and choose which objects will be affected as well.

I did a test on only a couple simple shapes. Box, of course, worked just fine. I also created a box with a quickly created revolved object which slightly resembled an hourglass booleaned out of the box. The box part looked fine. The part where the object was cut out of the box looked like Poop!

The problem wasn't noticed when the fillet was small, but once it was something a little larger it looked about like it does when you have duplicate surfaces except the pattern wasn't triangular.

I'd post a pic, but I can't find a site Whirlpool corp hasn't blocked for sharing pictures. And every time I find one it's blocked again a few days later. Ugh
Maybe if someone does the same things, it worked right out of max too, then they'll be nice and post the image and/or file.

This will Definitely come in handy for things like cabinets in the background and parting lines for products. Many times designers give me data and Thought about the parting lines, but only did a surface break. I will still have to do a quick extrude or something to get an edge there, but it's quicker than doing that Then filleting that too.

I'm hoping chaos is still continuing to improve this too. It really is great. Although, I'm not sure why they didn't just create a "duplicate" of the map and call it something else while also disabling the usless features like hidden edge and the pixels option. The only thing that seems to change anything is the world units anyway. Then it's less confusing since there really isn't much for a help file. It only gets slightly updated maybe once every two years.

The map works well only for relatively small radius values, once the radius value becomes large compared to the faces, it becomes very difficult to do the smoothing properly.

One thing I just noticed is that if you have a Vrayedges map in your bump slot, it will cancel out any Vraydisplacement modifier you have on your geometry. Would be nice to be able to use both.

This does not work for RC4, does it?

I cannot produce any filleting, no matter what value...

            thanks,

            gio

              I don't think it was in RC4.

So this fillet edging only appears only with the thickness set to world units (within vrayedgestex), I cant seem produce the fillet if its set the thickness in pixels)

It will only use the World units value, yes.

If somebody would be so kind to post a very simple scene or some step-by-step tutorial, I would be very grateful !

                      Cheers

This feature is only in V-Ray 1.5 final.

                              Haaa!! That's why!
I will upgrade it after the current project.

Thanks Vlado to point this out.
