Task Error: Mis -- what does this mean during netrender?

I have a job that has been net rendering fine. I made a few changes this morning and now it fails with an error "Task Error: Mis"

It is not a particularly complex scene... but I get Error Message in the Queue Monitor which says "Mis" only.

What does this mean and how do I fix it?

Possibly the start of a "Missing maps found" message. You can look at the V-Ray log file to see which are they; for whatever reason, the 3ds Max process is terminated before the entire error message is printed with all the missing maps.

From our experience, it has been missing maps, as Vlado suggested.
