Multimatte and material IDs

Is there any way to display a list of my scene materials with their associated material IDs? It gets pretty confusing when I have 20 or 30 materials!!!

me and scripts don't mix well....

can't say as i've tried it, but a 3.765 second search of scriptspot returns this http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/rla-manager

along with many others.

Mmm. Did a search there for Material + ID and found hundreds of results that I found tricky to scan through. I think I must learn the syntax for scriptspot as it is obviously very useful indeed.

(Script are one (of many!) thing I have never quite got my head around yet sooo many people are using/writing them)

...can't seem to get that to run. Do I basically save it as a script and choose 'run script' from Max8?
