  • saving renders caps floating point exrs

Why does Max/Vray cap my floating point exr files when i save render the traditional way? Only when I use the "split render channels" option in vray will it allow higher values than 1 to appear in my images. I have no capping switched on in vray and the vray framebuffer shows values greater than 1. Any help on this?

Which V-Ray version are you using?

        not truly float?

I have not tested this problem with the new 1.5 but I assume it remains. So this problem means that exr images rendered out of vray in the standard way, aren't truly float, right?

This is fixed in the final V-Ray 1.5 (why would you assume that the issue has remained??)

Why would I assume? Cuz i have a habit of putting my foot in my mouth. I just tested under 1.5 and indeed it has been fixed. Thanks, now we are truly floating. BTW, how does one get on the PDPlayer beta?
