Hello,
I know that this is a recurrent topic in the forum. I did a search but couldn't find the solution.
I’ll explain the case:
We are rendering an interior of a shopping centre and we want to comp animated people inside the building. The plate (building) has a glass roof with ribs that project some shadows in the floor. So now, idealy, we want to render people in separate pass and get:
-shadows from them cut by the shadows of the ribs
-reflection in the floor
-reflection in the windows of the shops
-People inside shops
-Matte for objects in the foreground
I did before some external animation comping and I got the reflections by rendering the people in white, hidden to the camera and use the white reflection as a mask. But here, this thing about the overlapped shadow is giving me a big headache.
I give you a link to the scene sample where I’m trying to test these things. It consists in a few simple boxes and materials but it reproduces the situation (max9-64+Vray1.5).

I assume that the answer may be quite elaborate so I want to thank any help in advance.
Cheers!
Manuel
