Pretty sure the user path settings are stored in an ini file?? which you can quickly edit then max will just update.

Only have to do it once anyway.. and that "should" sort it.

So DR does not work in 2008? I was hoping to upgrade... maybe not then.

FYI you can re-map all of the textures pretty quickly using File>Asset Tracking then right-click>Set Path.

Anyone worked out how to actually install Vray 1.5 onto 2008. the installer fo r 1.5 wants to uninstall the version that's already on for Max9 before installing for 2008??

Hey Lele: The follow-on message to Vlado's is:
                          "Hi

tried the above and it did indeed uninstall the previous version, as the uninstall starts straight away after pressing OK, if I press cancel it cancels the install.

VRay version is 1.5R3 licenced via a server, I am not sure how my company will licence 1.5 final via a dongle."

I'm getting the same results. When I push the "Cancel" button it simply quits out of the installer.

just installed max 2008 + vray 1.5 Final.
they run quite well and we noticed a certain performance increasing in spawner rendering. finally we could manage to play together some double quadcores machines.

cutting off rendering time, there is the chance of getting back home before dawn.... we really, really appreciate

                            best regards.
