  • DR wrong brightness spawner buckets - solution

    its a pain
you render still in DR and one spawner produce slightly darker or brighten buckets
its not a different version from vray
    its not a missing texture
    its not 32/64 bit issue

    it is the OS
if "region and language option" are different between DRmaster and spawners then I have the effect I discripe abouve

it seams 3dsmax or vray have problems to interpet . and ,
a value of 2,4 is is not understood and set to 2.0 and visa versa

just to share my researce - it was fun to find the reason
    thumps up

yeah this is an old old old issue.

Sort of common knowledge for the forum regulars anyway hehe..

But good post tho, hopefully some of the newer people will see it and make note.

Hmmm this is an interesting thing. I never knew that but it does explain some of the problems I had.

A bit stupid if you ask me...

hehe. i guess you just look at the "joined date" to know whats concidered common knowledge or not but then some of us go back even further to the first alpha version forum (i forget what it was called that was so long ago)

So, for now, I can't use DR...

All you need do is change the , to a . and your set.

No need to not used DR.

Elf, unfortunately the joned dates are not accurate anyway. You will find almost all the regulars joined on the exact same day.. haha.

Unfortunately, this was already set correctly with all "." and no commas.
I think my network is just not setup quite right. I need to invest in a true file server, too...

sorry to disturb, but where did you change the . to , in the Max preferences? Or how did you do it. Cause i just see we got the same trouble here.

                thanks

This should be a sticky I think.

I thought I could solve a recent issue with this, but it turned out all the machines had the same settings...

I kept searching for a reason and couldn't find it. Untill after 2 hours I found out my oh so clever colleague had linked to some textures on a shared external HD.
But he forgot that the slaves weren't linked to that HD so they couldn't find the textures -_-

I think he's still dizzy from the slaps around the head I gave him... moron.

                          hi there,

is there another solution for the different buckets maybe????
i have exact the same settings on 2 mashines, but renders with light differentes. no maps at all in scene.

                          best regards

Its, either the ,/. issue or that one machine cannot see the ir/lc maps properly or some of the textures but if you have no textures its not that then.

THere was a bug in earlier versions of vray where fog would differ across machines when network rendering but that would only affect water or glass objects.

that seems to be!! but what do you mean by earlier versions?
using rc5 still.. think will switch to final then.
                              thanks man
