  • Vray licence server not running. Still rendering.

    Hi,.

Just installed Max 2008 and Vray latest, I have the dongle insterted and the drivers for it are installed. I had the Vray licence server running ok. Everything was fine. Restarted my machine and the vray licence server started (as I had it in startup) but I got the following message: 'Only one usage of each socket (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted.

Now, The vray licence server is not running but when I start max I can render using vray just fine, no vrlserver icon task bar.

Any ideas? I was under the impression that the vrlserver needs to be running.

    Cheers,

    Danny

You probably checked the license server to be installed as a Windows service. In this case, it will be started automatically every time Windows boots. In this mode, the license server will not show an icon in the task bar, but it will appear in the Task Manager if you select the "Show processes from all users" option.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.
