I have heard it mentioned by Vlado a few times, is this out or some thing we are waiting for, We are having some odd refresh issues that it sounds like it might address.

....but some head is better than none.....
very shortly like one to two months, or 1 to 2 days.
I've been hearing very shortly for what I consider to be slightly longer than very shortly already.
The bigger question for me is will it be distributed as a patch, a complete install, or both. It's nice to have a patch if you are already running fine and just need the update. The complete install is nice if you are planning no using it on new machines or doing reinstalls. I'm going to reinstall some machines, so i would like the complete file so it cuts down a couple steps in the install process.
Very shortly as in it is ready for us, but has to be put in the support section for us to download...at least that is what I understand from what I have read here at the forums.
It is a complete install; the files are on the server, and only the web pages need to be updated, which should happen very soon (it does not depend on me however so I can't say when with precision).
let us know who's job updating the webpage is so we can all complain about them for a bit. lol
I'm definitely looking for this. I need to reinstall max on a few computers, but I'm waiting for this update so I don't have to install vray basically twice in a row.
Well, there was a slight delay to prepare a separate installer for 3ds Max 2008; most people seemed to think it is better to have one, than to use the one for 3ds Max 9.
just tell those people..."There is an option in the installer to choose which version to install. I am smarter than you, and I say that you only need one installer, so there."
lol
I'm not sure why you'd need to do another installer as long as there was an option for 2008 in the installer, but I guess I'm only one person.

isn't this the same version for both max9 and 2k8?
if any - what are the differencies?
cheers!

Yup it is but it seemed that a unified installer that covered both max 9 and 2008 wanted to uninstall the max 9 version before putting in the 2008 version since they looked like the same files - a separate installer completely unaware of max 9 avoids this.
