  • glass and general reflections

Hello there. I was just wondering if there were any specific settings which I could apply to reflections (on materials and in the render settings) that would speed up the rendering process. Many thanks

You can reduce the Depth value, both refl/refr.

      Globally:
-Limit the depth of reflection/refraction in the Global Settings tab of the render dialog.
-If using Light Cache, check "use light cache for glossy reflections"

      Material:
-Lower the subdivisions for glossy reflections/refractions (default: 8, and much lower will make your glossy reflections/refractions noisy, which for frosted glass etc isn't a big deal)
-Change the max depth on your material's reflections/refractions and set the exit color to be the color you want it to reflect/refract when it reaches the ceiling on depth.
