  • Scatter Vray Proxy?

Just curious if there is a way to scatter/distribute Vray Proxies?

yes, look up the script, advanced painter on scriptspot.com. Also I believe there's a scatter plugin on www.maxplugins.de that will do proxys.

This has also been asked and answered a few times before.

A search would have given you some good results.

wow percy! advanced painter - what a great little tool! thanks a lot for that one!
i was just getting ready for a battle with max's scatter when i saw this, hope this scatter/random behaves a little better. ofcourse, those are the only two functions that don't work in 64 bit - oh well, you can't have it all

tududuu, painting noodles and spaghetti, tududuu...

          great stuff

I have found success in the "scatter" compound object using a simple box primative in the rough size of the proxy, then using blurscripts/soulburn ObjectReplacer on the placeholder objects. Then you can use some of the other scirpts in those packs to randomly rotate and scale if need be...or even randomly apply materials.

Peter Watje's scatter utility works extremely well with vray proxies as well. We used it for this ...
