Even the most advanced users need to glance over the basics every once in a while. Over time with the software I have noticed that my perspective of it changes, as does my understanding of different concepts. It seems that almost every day I find something that once seemed insignificant to be a big time saver for something that I am doing currently. Watching video of a process in use is much more impactful on me personally.

You know that even participating in these forums could be considered lazy by the same standard...you are learning from somebody else's experience rather than figuring it out on your own using the VRay manual. If someone is too proud to admit that they have nothing to learn even from the basics, then they are only hindering their own progress.

I have a question. Will these videos be made available for offline viewing afterwards? I ask because there is a good possiblity that I may miss the Onyx webinar, which happens to be the one that I am most interested in.

These tutorials are also helpful for people who dont have the software and would like to see what it's capable of. You can't read the manual on Onyx if you havent already purchased it. You can't practice with proxies if you dont have vray. And one of the most asked about questions in visualization period is 'how do you create walls'. I learn new things everyday and I've been doing this ever since the software has been around. If another experienced user was giving the same class, i'd want to watch it myself because one useful tip or trick would make it worthwhile.

As far as the videos being made available, i will ask Jeff to comment on that here. I personally want them to be and i think they eventually will be, but it's out of my control.

I don't need any new training. I've got this one button script that imports my cad lines, extrudes the walls, creates windows and frames, floors and ceilings, imports and places furniture and then merges in a prebuilt light rig. It then renders out a jpeg, and sends it to the client. Sure it looks like shit, but I get paid yo!

The videos will be available at a later date on CGarchitect on the Visualization Insider pages. However the live sessions are great because you can ask questions at the end of the webinar.

                  lol

I'm a person who feels the constant need to defend my slow and tedious 'long' way of doing things to other staff & employer who seem preoocupied with finding a shortcut or script for anything and everything. there really isnt much that can be done automatically while at the same time producing decent and trouble-free results, but EVERYONE seems to constantly push along with the idea that things CAN be done faster.

I think its overly confident people who jump in with such certainly that everything is going to work as planned thinking "damn i'm good"...until the trouble starts and they end up with an issue that cant be resolved or tracked down because they used so many 'auto' buttons that they have no idea about how to actually do the work themselves. The problem drags on for days and the clients start cracking the shits, then they come running to me for a solution because i somehow meet deadlines without taking shortcuts. Anyway, thats why i find your story halarious...it reminds me of my every day struggle . Got a bit off track there didn't I?

the training courses sound very helpful especially regarding onyxtree and creating proxies because its something that you could spend AGES self learning before you actually completely figured things out

I was most definitely joking. I can never be taken seriously.
