  • Dual install of 1.5RC3 and 1.5FinalSpX

Looked around but did not see anything specific

Is it possible to run RC3 and Final on the same box under one install of MAX?
I seem to remember having a dual .ini with two versions a long time ago.
    Wondering if that still works.

Nope, won't work. No way to ini the files in the root of max, you could create a batch file that copied the necessary files before starting Max

That works except backburner will only see the original if you were hoping to net render.

Sweet, thought so but did not want to go through it and roast anything (middle of a big
          project).
          Thanks Rerender.

Nah on the BB, just need to test out some of our existing jobs before we switch over.
I know about the skylight being brighter, but down know of any other changes
in rendering that might cause issues or inconsistencies with existing projects, hope
          the legacy behavior helps there.

I just need to test a couple jobs to see if any other nasty surprises pop up.
We had some significant issues with 1.47 to RC3 and some previous older
updating (of course, was a little over eager sometimes).

Trying to make sure RC3 to FinalSp1 is smooth for everyone. Its killing me not running
FinalSp1, there are some fixes, improvements and additions there that I could really use
          right now.

Cool, yeah should work fine for testing, I did that for a while here before we switched. The move from RC3 to 1.50 should pretty painless.

I've got BB running on the same machine for both Max 8 and 10. As long as you have the latest, it will work for all below (excluding perhaps BB via 9... I never got networking of any sort to work in Max 9).

In fact it knows which nodes have 8 and 10, without having to tell it. I don't mean to compliment autodesk, but they finally got their sh*t sorted with BB in 2008.
