hairtrix grass sample

hi all,

since I couldn’t find many hairtrix posts around, you might be interested in mine...

grass scene was done in vray by only using 1 vraysun,
hair produces proper GI and shadows underneath your hair,
finally a hairsystem that seems to be working without too many restrictions or complicated methods to get the job done

Nice renderings...grass looks interesting, but more like hair or underwater grasses...Still looks promising. Thanks for sharing

yeah, don't mind the look and feel of the grass...
just a test...I didn't put any time in giving it a good look...

Sweet! I can't wait to see it/them. Any chance you'll write down some tips for this stuff? What's rendertime like for stills with that hairtrix?

well, important to note is that I didnt convert any hair to mesh, this is done with the environement hair...
and still it produces proper GI and shadows with vraysun...
that hair renders pretty fast, certainly a lot faster then vrayfur and I cant get vrayfur to be so soft
and sure this grass looks a bit too hairy but playing around and you will get better results or mix and match with flowers and all kinds of (real mesh) grass types...
