Live chat....a possibility ?

It's an IRC server. There are more servers like sorcery.net, esper.net etc...
The #vray channel is hosted on efnet though.

Efnet is one of the big IRC networks. You can find info and serverlists here :
http://www.efnet.net/

But most clients come with an efnet "preset". You can also use http://chat.efnet.info/ if you just want to take a peak.

Efnet ??? WTF!!!!!!

To let you know the two major drawbacks: you can't register Nicknames and Channelnames.
You have to run "bots" to manage and secure your channel ..and when talking about bots we are talking about skriptkiddies and since i'm too old to toy around on the web with ppl who want to takeover a "offical" vray support channel we should stop the discussion, especially if we are talking about efnet!

If you read above, i mentioned that already. Still it is there since ages and rather empty mostly. And i guess it would get even less frequented if it was moved elsewhere. Anyways i dont care where it is and would even be willing to provide a dedicated irc server if that is what the majority wants. Doesnt mean we have to stop the discussion tho if you ask me

I would love to have an integrated web-based chat for all the chaosgroup registered users online at that moment, instead of anything else. I dont really care about logging chats, since they are useless for the most part, and i believe u are likely to get the info u want from the forum itself anyway. I see a chat as a chance to get in touch with people...like a chill out room while rendering. Users with DR activated wont be here often, but those rendering with pentium 3 will definitely love it.
U never know what can come out from these informal chats!
