  • Dumb question about distance, hazey horizons.

Ok I've had a search but cant really find what I'm looking for. I'm sure I've seen how to do this before but how do you guys blend your sky to the horizon? Like maybe on an oceanscape or large plane.
Alas all of my work has been inside up untill now

Try an VRayPlane as ground or water surface

Oooh yeah, should have said. I did try that but am using displacement. The pair don't seem to play very well!

Displacement and VRAY planes area no go, but what you can do is put a displaced plane up close to the camera and then a Vray plane that blends into the horizon. Fog is needed too to get a good blend.
Two heads are better than one ...
....but some head is better than none.....

put the VRay plane a bit lower than your ground or sea in the foreground and give it a general noise colour to match your displacement object in the foreground?
          Kind Regards,

Thanks guys, I'll try blending the vray plane in somehow. Fog looked good but only when not using the physical camera...then the fog comes out black!?
