  • Not trying to start a new LWF thread

There are lots of people sick of all the threads about LWF and I'm sorry for creating another. I just have a question to see if I've done it correctly.

Is this right? I render using V-Ray frame buffer and colors look correct. Then I clone the image back to the standard Max VFB and it's lighter and washed out.

I don't need to be really accurate but I thought I'd try it out since so many people talk about it.

    Thanks in advance.

you should render with vrayVFB with the button sRGB on.
that would be the same as the output in the max render vfb

now you have to read over this forum again there are loads of post where this is the case.

Thanks & crap. I think I'm going to have to give up on it. It's over my head.

      Edit
WooHoo! I actually had it. I just wasn't using the sRGB. Thanks!

cloning to the max vfb actually does double gamma correction as the standard vfb does gamma correction automatically according to the Gamma/LUT settings. So for comparisons you should stick to the vfb history feature rather then cloning to get consistent results.

          VFB History feature?

Ahhhhh.... I just Googled it. That's really cool. Thanks.

Would you happen to know if there was some kind of script that can make the frame buffer act more like Maya's? I'm just referring to how you could store several images in it's buffer and scroll through them.

It looks like it but it was nice having it all in one window. It's been about 8 years since I've seen it so it's possible that I'm completely making this up but I thought there was a way to put notes into it as well.

I'm probably remembering something I want to.
