  • Hdri blocked by the room

    I'm doing some product renderings...and I have set up a scene
    with reflection planes, are there any way I can get reflections
    from the planes and from a enviroment hdri. at the same time
    without the planes blocking the hdri reflections?

    Have you tried turing off cast shadows in the object properties?

      This wont work. Reflection rays will be occluded by the planes from hdri. In real world you cannot have both, one will always be blocked by the other. However you can achive this by simply rendering a two pass render, 1 for planes, one for hdri reflection and compositing them afterward.

          I suppose you could use a VRayLightMtl material with transparency mapping for this (the opacity map of VRayLightMtl does not affect its self-illumination properties).
