  • Flat planes, not to be illuminated on both sides

When i have a flat plane, for example, a wall which has no thickness, is it possible to prevent it from being illuminated on the other side? I'd like it to be double sided, but not to have light show up on both sides, just the one that is actually facing the light?

yes, if your material is doublesided, the backside shouldn't be lit in your example.
It's in the Options of the material.

You are absolutely right. I had no idea that this parameter helps. So basically even without it ticked, it still shows as double sided, but it's lit on both sides?

Weird. I thought that if you see the other side of it, even though it's lit, the parameter is turned on.

      Thanks.
