I've got it , too, but it doesn't seem to cooperate with SP2, yet.
Well I just saw there is now an update that supports SP1...

      Sp2

Mine does. I had to e-mail the developer and once he verified my payment he gave me download rights to the latest build. It works like a charm for me. I am running MAX 2009 with v-ray 1.5 SP2.

It all sounds a bit too good to be true. Is it intended for the 'absolute novice' then?

This is the first I've heard of this. Bobby you seem pretty happy with it. Anyone else finding it useful. It's cheap enough just to give it a try.

I don't use it for final rendering, but the good thing about this plugin is that you can easily test setups and see how it works in your scene (AA on details, speed differences, lighting speed, etc). From there on you can finetune. It's actually a good VRay Learning Tool....

What does the optimise materials and lights functions do ?

                          Optimize

It optimizes the light subdivisions. It is temporary and when you finish your render it'll set it back.

Works great! Providing me with a lot of insight into some things that I simply just ignored up til now.

My colleague just got it. I think I'll try it out once he's done with his current job to see how it works. He seems enthousiastic about it.
