  • Perspective match with Vray Sky & physical cam

Before I started using Vray I would create my exterior perspective matched images by inserting the photograph in the Environment channel and enabling the environment background from the viewport background dialogue box. This allowed me to render the building and background together and I like it. How can I set up my vray scene to reproduce this effect while using a vraysky/sun and physical camera?

A couple of ways, my preferred method is to use the sky map in a vray dome light, even when the light is "stored with irrmap" this provides better sampling than when using the environment slots (subs for the light should be bumped to about 75 when storing the light in the imap and the environment overide should be on and set to zero). The second method is to place the sky map in the "environment override" slot in the "environment" roll-out. Both methods will leave the max environment open for using your background image.
