sorry for the dumb question...
just now getting around to playing with proxies (i know i'm lame ) just haven't really had the need to mess with them before. i know its something easy but i cant get the materials to work.
Helpfile:
"Also, since the imported mesh is rendered using the material of the proxy object, all meshes from the file will render with that material. You must use subobject materials and different material IDs if you want them to have different materials."
i'm trying to get it to work with an xfrog tree which has a multi sub...i always thought it would trace back to the source file and use the material but i guess it doesnt. i also tried applying the multi-sub for the tree to the proxy...still renders as a solid color.
thanks for any help.
