9.5 hours in and 75% done?

Has anyone ever done anything that's taken this long? On a dual quad core xeon 2.8ghz/8gb ram, its an interior at 3500pixels * 3200 ish. All but maybe 2 materials have glossy reflections. I just want to know if it's normal. I'm not going to kill it because i'd rather wait 4 hours for it to finish than 4 hours for a new image which may not look as good.

i've frequently had interiors take 24 hours + in the past at lower resolutions but this was on slower computers and older versions which i think were slower when it came to glossies

You could probably tweak settings a bit but if you are like me, then you wont want to compromise when it comes to settings. id let it finish personally

Came in at 14hours 15mins (although most of that last 4 hours was when I was working on other stuff aswell). Good to hear that it's not unusual!

14 hours for Hi-Res images is not uncommon for us.
And we render on two QuadCore machines.

4 days was the longest rendertime I ever had. 9 hours though is not unusual.

Just did an evening shot at 3000x2250 that took 9.5 hours. The day version was 2 hours - guess this is not unusual than.

Thank heavens, and all this time I thought it was just me who had over 9hr renders at 5000x3750.

Most of the time people post render times here it is miss leading cos they may not be at the uber high print res usually used for Arch Viz stuff.

I just figured I could set it to render overnight and it would be done when I came in in the morning, but it makes a bit of a difference when "overnight" means when I leave at 11:30pm. My head hurts.

Maybe if you put the image, we can tell if its worth to wait soo long or if you need some tweeking. But usualy for a hires image that render times are not unusual.

I think I don't have the quality high enough if the final render doesn't take about 10hrs, so I can set it to go ... go to bed and wake up to a finished render and not have had any of the time wasted idle :P
