  • Has anyone else uncovered strange behavior in Max 2009?

I'm not sure how many users are working version 2009 yet but I was wondering if I'm the only one coming acrossed some strange and annoying issues?

    "Random Perspective Viewport Switching"
This one drives me insane and happens very regularly. You could be clicking on objects or creating new objects in one view, then suddenly "pop"... Your in perspective view. It happens all of the time and is unpredictable. (Please tell me someone has a quick fix for this one)

    "Photometric Light Intensity Resets"
I've got a few scenes that tend to reset some photometric light intensity values on scene load no matter how many times I change them and save them.

I've come acrossed some other issues and I'll post them when I can recall them. Has anyone else uncovered soem odd things with 2009?

    Random Perspective Viewport Switching

Random Perspective View port Switching... this happens to me when I try to pick an element in my scene, but miss. I think it has something to due with the cube. I had the cube disabled prior to the hotfix and I didn't have the problem. Now that I have in enabled the perspective issue is back.

The bug that is bugging me is when I go to camera view I see nothing.... I have to toggle something like wire frame on/off to see anything.

I believe the problem is related to viewcube. Try renaming the autocam.dlu to autocam.dlu.off (or any other name) and see if it helps. Also the viewport speed increases a lot in complex scenes with the no viewcube.

        best regards,

          autocammax.gup

You might need to rename the autocammax.gup

I get zoom object extents problems. Select and object then go view Zoom extents all selected, then MAX gets confused and zooms extents the scene. Click again and it sort of zooms extents the selected object but its off screen in some viewports. Clicking several times on the command eventually does what you want. VERY irretating. Also when typing in distances to move an object, it stays in the text box. So when you press enter or select the object, it sometimes moves or dont move and you get problems with your object moving wrong direction. Also rotating in axiz z in say top viewport rotates correctly, but then rotate again in same viewport in same axiz (type the angle) and then it would for some starnge reason move on x or y axiz. It has nothing to do with absolute mode or offset mode as I always set it to absolute mode.
            Kind Regards,
            Morne
