  • Gi and moving objects...again

Ok I have a bit of a problem here and time is running out!
I have a small scene with one moving object and an orbiting camera. I've rendered the scene without the moving object (looks great) using the incrimental add IR map and LC.
No I need to render the moving object and comp it on.
I've followed the tutorial on http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150S...rials_anim.htm but don't really get the comping bit.
I rendered out my moving object with the Vrayspherefade surrounding it and it looked fine. Is there a way of then comping that PNG sequence directly via After Affects, rather than rendering it out another 3 times and doing the odd comping bit in the material editor?
I tried just dropping the moving object PNG on in AE but there is a odd transition where the Vrayspherefade does it's 'fade' Like it's messing up the alpha channel. Any tips?
    Cheers

Personally I wouldn't use the sphere fade method for those reasons - I'd select my animated object, invert the selection so you get all your static scene and use the vray properties to make their matte contribution -1 and turn on shadows and affect alpha - then you can comp over in after effects pretty easily.

There is an option "Affect alpha" in VRaySphereFade, which allows you to generate a proper alpha mask for it, so that you don't have to render 3 times (although the latter is somewhat more accurate).

Thanks guys, really helpfull. I'm trying a combination of these techniques. One thing I've noticed is that my Vray dome light does not seem to create any shadows on my alpha map if I use 'store with irradiance map'.
I'm using primary IR map and Brute force secondary.
Am I missing somthing here to make my shadows appear? They appear when i uncheck 'store with ir map'
        Cheers
