Half Processors working

Our new machine was using all 8 processors to render now it only uses 4 - has anyone had this before ?

I had a similar problem a long time ago, if your using 3DS Max?

It might happen if someone forced 4 rendering threads in the scene; you can try to open the 3ds Max MaxScript listener (F11) and type

renderers.current.system_numThreads=0

to return the number of threads to the automatic mode and see if it helps.

Yep, that's why it worked across DR/backburner rendering back when you needed to use it.
