  • Vray Baking Tutorial?

    Hi

Has anybody doing Architectural type renderings done a flythrough with Texture Baking?

if not.. has anybody got some tips or tricks for doing a basic texture baking animation? I know there's one in the vray help files, but that is a pretty basic model with no textures.

How long does the baking process take?

    etc...

It takes forever. Not the actual rendering part of the baking, but all the planning and setup involved.

IMO, at least for the types of architectural animations I do, its faster to use lighting.

I would only use light baking for real-time walkthroughs. But now with real-time lighting engines like Oblivion, HL2's Hammer editor or CryEngine2, even that is not necessary.

      Hi Santiago

I had a quick look at the setup process and you're right. I think to use this for the forst time on a project with a deadline is not going to be feasable.
