not that I know of, and not that I would.

Why do you want to attenuate a vray light?

I need to light an office floor plate slightly so I am using vray plane lights - the problem is that the light effect is continuing out past the glass to the outside and illuminating external elements in a way that I don't want.

So, it would be better for me in this case to stop the light where I want, hence the question. I am also of the opinion that this type of light cannot be attenuated however, I thought I would ask and make sure.

You could use the include/exclude option though...

Your right I could but a more pressing issue has raised its head - the vray plane lights are increasing the render times by 3 so multiply that by 6 buildings and I have to find some other lighting method.

          All fun and games !

I remember that something can be done with the cutoff parameter in the sampling area, maybe too harsh for you but useful to avoid wasting rendertime in not required sampling
