  • PPT and timer request

    I

i don't know if it's a stupid request, but for me is usefull to have a cooking "timer" for PPT. For example, if i want create an animation and i've 24h, i want that one frame take 10 minuts for entire animation. And i know the exact rendering time for generate all frames.

    tell me your opinion

    bye

That's actually not a bad idea at all. This way you could keep working right up until a fixed point where you need to click render, knowing that it will render out on time. I'm sure it'd be a piece of piss for Vlado to work out...

Sounds like a Maxwell Render option, I think thats a good idea though.

This will not work well if you render your animation on several different machines, as you may get different results, depending on the speed of each machine...

there is a timer option like that in Fryrender.
            It works quite well.
You can set it to do a certain number of samples and then move on to the next frame.
It wouldnt work for VRay though.
Your better off working out how long a frame takes and then doing some maths!

Well, the "Subdivs" value for the light cache is just that - number of samples (for the whole image though). So if you want fixed quality, you can set this to a suitable value (it takes a bit of maths to figure out the samples per pixel).

But in general it is not a problem to add timing option... I will think about it.

              Best regards,
              Vlado
