Brute Force as sencondary GI is too slow with blurry reflections, isn't it?. Is there any way to make it faster, or maybe just try to render with light cache. Here's my second question, can I use "use light cache for glossy rays" in the animation ?
Just to let you know, I'm doing a car animation and I have lot of glossies, 3d motion blur for the wheels with glossy reflection is really slow, therefore my questions. I've done several animations and could never get rid of the flickering... . I'm kind of desperate
    Hope you can help me

    Thx in advance

It would be helpful if you can show some flickering frames; it might be possible that the flickering is not due to GI at all.

Could you render the light cache through backburner if your going to render every frame of the light cache instead of a single file flythough as morbid angel test suggested? Because I think sending a animation on only one computer with a animation for example with 2000 frames+ would take days on a single machine. How did you render the light cache every frame?

Um, just leave it to the default mode "Single frame".

So I sent the light cache every frame through the backburner and it seemed to just overwrite itself every frame. I wouldn't give me individual light cache files like the prepass would. I wonder if I'm doing it wrong because morbid angel's method seems to work quite well in getting no flickers in the the last animation sample gif he posted.

the point is that the LC gets saved into the irmap every frame.

Oh ok, I see now! Thanks, that was a little confusing. I'll try that method then. I'll try to post a sample later.

this is because lightcache is not stored or interpolated. Its simply stored in memory (ram) while the render is in progress for that single frame.

Sorry Vlado, I was out for a few days and couldn't send a sample. I'll try to get some samples as soon as I can.
Meanwhile, Can I use light cache for glossy rays in an animation? also, interpolated materials are suitable for animations? I want to make nice smooth glossies without noise and good rendering speed, and interpolated materials are really fast but not sure if they work fine with animations. My idea is to test Morbid Angel method.

best Regards and thx for your help

You can use the light cache for glossy rays for animations, but whether or not it will flicker depends on the specific scenes.

Anyways, I am working on some improvements to stabilize the light cache and the irradiance map for animations... I can post some results in a few days. BTW how do you guys create animated GIFs?

                      Best regards,

I use to do it in Paint Shop Pro. It use to come with Gif Animator in Version 7. Since then Corel baught Jasc inc and they're now up to Paint Shop pro 11 I think. Not sure if it still comes with Gif animator. (I mentioned it since maybe you have Paint Shop pro somewhere on an old cd)
                            Kind Regards,
