If the target line is switch on for these lights, does it play any role how long this line is or not?

Nope, only the direction matters, since the target is used only to determine the orientation of the light.

from a quick test (two planes that form floor/wall and one vrayies light by the wall) it appears that it does not.the purpose of a ninja is to flip out and kill people.
