I just need to know if my thinking is correct. Since regions tend to be lighter I assume yes, but I really want to know if it's right.
I've got a 5k render using irradiance map, med, and light cache, 2000 subdivs.
OK, then I do a region, it's lighter. Is that because it still does a full 2000 samples in that small region? Should i really be figuring out how much of the screen is being shown and use only that percentage of the original amount. So if say I use a 1/4 region, then I should have 500 subdivs for that region?
that seems to work, but it's hard to tell. I know it won't be exact, but that will at least be closer, not to mention quicker.
