  • Matte reflection problem

    Hi all,

I am doing a series of 60 hires product visualizations. I need each product to have a nice reflection under it. However the background will change so I need to render the product with alpha and then render the reflection as a separate layer, then comp these with different backgrounds in PhotoShop.

I try different settings in the VRayMtlWrapper but don´t get desired result fo the reflection. (For shadow it is easy though)

    Please help:
What color and settings should the reflective base material have?
What settings should I have in the VRayMtlWrapper material?
    Are there any other workarounds?

This must be a common task so I am sure there are waterproof solutions that people use, I just can´t figure out how though...

    Thanks in advance!

a common method is to do a reflection pass that is a non-matte plane, black+reflections, then added or use one of the light transfers

But if we want to put our product over a white backgronud when i add my reflection pass the reflections are lost. What is the workaround in this case?
