DR and RAM usage

When DR rendering, RAM is as the total of all slaves and main pc?
or each pc utilise its own ram?
how do we put the dynamic memory under system parameters? according to total number of RAM or the main pc?

I'm not sure but I would say set it to just a little less as the pc with the least amount of ram. But any1 feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
So if you're smallest pc has 2gb, then maybe set it to 1.5gb
